About Me

I have always been interested in illustration and have spent may an hour at the kitchen table as a child, drawing and painting animals or people - whatever I found interesting, sometimes following our pet cat around quickly sketching or waiting patiently just to get the right angle and compostition, although usually ending up as often is the way with cats, a picture of her asleep!

I initally completed a foundation course concentrating on graphic design & illustration before moving into  and animation.  I worked for several years in the traditional animation industry, on various film and television commercials, as an artworker, clean up artist and assistant animator.  It was during this time that I gained an invaluable wealth of knowledge and experience which has certainly helped and influenced the work I am producing now.

More recently I fullfilled an ambition I've had for a long time and went off to study Children's Book Illustration at Chelsea College of Art and Design.  In both 2004 & 2005 I received a 'Highly Commended' for my entries in the Macmillain Prize for Children's Book Illustration. 

It was also about this time that I decided to develop a range of giclee prints from several of my wildlife illustrations.  These prints proved to be quite popular, so I have continued to extend the range of original Limited Edition Prints and now offer Open Editions as well as ACEO's and Greeting Cards.

I consider myself very lucky to be able to combine my interest in wildlife and the natural world with illustration in such an enjoyable and creative way !  I have lots more ideas for the future prints and products, so do pop by again soon to see what's new!
